Integrated photonic architectures for color center-based quantum sensing

This internship topic focuses on the design of integrated photonic systems and subsystems for color center–based quantum sensing.  Various material platforms and approaches will be considered, including silicon carbide (SiC) and diamond nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers. The work aims to develop scalable and realistic photonic integrated circuit architectures that enable efficient optical excitation and readout, while addressing system-level constraints for manufacturability.

Type of Internship: Master internship

Master's degree: Master of Science; Master of Engineering Technology; Master of Engineering Science

Required educational background: Electrotechnics/Electrical Engineering; Materials Engineering; Physics

Duration: 1 year

University Promotor: Xavier Rottenberg (KU Leuven)
