R&D Engineer Wet Etch and Clean

What you will do

The Surface and Interface Processing (SIP) team assumes a pivotal role in device integration (for Logic CMOS, Memory, beyond-CMOS, and Quantum computing) and 3D packaging, which serve as consistent drivers of innovation, bringing forth a continuous stream of novel and increasingly complex wet processing challenges. To attain such requirements, a good understanding of cleaning processes and state-of-the-art wet processing hardware is a must.
Therefore, we are looking for R&D Engineer Wet Etch and Clean to join our team.

  • Drive wet etch process development from LAB to FAB by designing robust experiments and implementing methodologies for process control, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify wet etch and clean processes and integration challenges, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and partners to develop innovative solutions.
  • Report about your work to internal and external partners, write technical papers, file patents, and actively extend your professional network through conferences and collaborations.
  • Participate in joint development programs with external partners, driving research on new tools, materials, metrology, and methodologies while regularly sharing results.
  • You will work in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural environment together with imec researchers, hardware engineers, industry assignees, tool suppliers, device and process experts and scientists.

  • Any experience in the semiconductor industry and specifically in wet cleaning processing and hardware, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of leading-edge technology like advanced Logics, memories or 3DI/OIO is appreciated.
  • This position requires you to work in the FAB.
  • You have strong analytical skills and are motivated to look into the problem with an engineering mindset.
  • You work autonomously, well organized, with good attention to detail and set high standards of quality.
  • You can work within cross-disciplined technical teams.
