Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will help with the accounting and analysis activities of the department. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team.  Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. This role aids with implementing policies and procedures to ensure financial transactions are executed accurately and collaborates with other departments.

Here's what you'll do:

·       Reconcile intercompany accounts with our headquarters in Belgium

·       Ensure internal controls are followed

·       Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts

·       Prepare and submit journal entries

·       Prepare and file sales tax returns

·       Managing annual audit preparations and requests

·       Assist in preparing grant proposal budgets

·       Assist in managing of spending against federal grants

·       Prepare and execute accounting required for monthly close process for multiple companies

·       Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

Key Qualifications

·       Have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 5+ years of relevant experience.

·       Knowledgeable in GAAP accounting principles and practices

·       Knowledgeable and experienced with MS office including advanced Excel skills

·       Experienced in Grant Accounting preferred

·       Have excellent knowledge of financial reporting standards & chart of accounts

·       Experience with all areas of accounting including AP, AR, Fixed Assets, GL, Payroll, Sales tax and Financial Statement preparation
