As imec grows internationally, so does the way our teams work together. Our Digital Design team is a clear example of this in practice: based in Eindhoven, but deeply connected to colleagues in Leuven and Naples, working as one across borders to design the chips of tomorrow.
Constant connectivity, wherever the team is
For Stefano Traferro, R&D Team Leader in Eindhoven, staying connected across locations is essential to how the team gets things done. "Constant connectivity between the teams is important to get the job done," he explains. Between conference calls, Teams chats, and daily collaboration, distance stops being a barrier and becomes simply part of how the team operates.
That sense of connection is felt across every office. Ilse Vos, Principal Member of Technical Staff, puts it simply: "Even though we are at different locations, we are all imec and we still feel the imec vibe." It's this shared identity, more than physical proximity, that keeps the team aligned and moving in the same direction.
In Naples, Massimiliano Martucci, R&D Team Leader, sees the value of bringing different backgrounds and perspectives together every day. "They bring strong technical knowledge and different perspective," he says. "This is very useful because we can compare ideas and find better solutions together. We gain from diversity."
This is what cross-location collaboration looks like in practice at imec, and it's a story that will only keep growing as the team does.
