Use one of imec’s mature technologies for groundbreaking applications across a multitude of industries such as healthcare, agriculture and Industry 4.0.
The project BIGG (Building Information aGGregation, harmonization and analytics platform), funded by the European Commission under the H2020 programme (Grant Agreement n° 957047), has been launched in December 2020. BIGG aims at demonstrating the application of big data technologies and data analytic techniques for the complete buildings life-cycle of more than 4000 buildings in 6 large-scale pilot test-beds in Spain and Greece.
This Innovation Action brings together 12 partners from 5 European countries: Inetum-RealDolmen as coordinator - BE, CIMNE - ES, CSTB - FR, ICAEN - ES, DOMX - GR, IMEC - BE, Helexia - BE, Intuicy - IT, ICAT - ES, Engie Hellas - GR, HERON - GR and ECTP - BE, with solid complementary expertise and geographical coverage.
Throughout its duration – 36 months, the project is expected: (i) to design and implement a flexible and open source big data reference architecture to collect, analyse and exchange dynamic and static building - big - data; (ii) to standardise and internally harmonize the data collected from different sources; (iii) to develop an open, cloud-based building-related data analytics toolbox extensible to support third party developments and wide range of services; (iv) to validate the BIGG Data Analytics Toolbox over the BIGG Data Reference Architecture 4 Buildings in large-scale pilots supporting different multi-party business cases, in different countries; (v) to promote and incentivize the widespread adoption of BIGG platform by providing 1) attractive services, considering their financial sustainability and improving the user experience; 2) standardized and open solutions.
