Finance Specialist – Project Accounting 

What you will do

As a Finance Specialist within the Project Accounting team, you are responsible for the Validation of financial data in the contract Approval and translating contractual agreements into accurate financial data in our systems. You play a key role in ensuring data quality, supporting process improvements, and acting as a key user for our accounting (SAP) and CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and Project Management Tool (Clarity) 
You will work closely with colleagues from Project and General Accounting, Business Controlling, Contract Administration and Business Development to ensure accurate and timely financial administration of projects within imec. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Validate Financial data in the Contract Approval Flow 
  • Translate contractual terms within the CRM system into financial parameters and ensure proper follow-up in the accounting environment. 
  • Drive and maintain high-quality financial master data related to projects. 
  • Act as a key user for the accounting and project administration systems: 
    • Identify opportunities for process optimalization and contribute to their implementation. 
    • Define requirements for process changes 
    • Coordinate the testing and validation of new features or updates 
    • Deliver training sessions and ongoing support to team members 
    • Collaborate with various finance stakeholders including Project Accounting, General Accounting, Business Controlling, and other departments.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Accountancy, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project accounting, controlling, or a similar financial role. 
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems, preferably in a project- or contract-driven environment. 
  • Combined structured analysis with a commitment to correct and precise execution. 
  • Proactive and hands-on approach with a continuous improvement attitude. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. 
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
