Photonic Integrated Circuit prototyping and small volume production

Imec.IC-link provides access to Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) proto-typing and small volume production based on imec’s ISiPP50G silicon integrated photonics platform. Prototyping is implemented through a Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) service with two passive runs and two active runs (containing active elements such as modulators and photodetectors) scheduled each year. For quantities larger than the 20-25 samples delivered in an MPW run, dedicated runs can be requested which return approximately 15 200mm wafers.

The ISiPP50G process is characterized by an extensive Process Design Kit (PDK) which describes in detail:

  • Over 260 design rules
  • 20 process modules
  • In excess of 50 device library elements

The PDK is available upon signature of imec’s Silicon Photonics Design Kit License Agreement (DKLA).
