During a gala dinner on May 18, Sven De Cleyn, manager of the imec.istart business incubation program, has been elected ‘Top Investor of the Year 2017’ by a jury of independent CEOs.
The election is part of the annual 'Entrepreneur Awards of the Year', which are awarded by TOP MANAGEMENT and angel.me. The initiative puts the Young Top Manager, the Top Founder and Top Investor in Flanders and Wallonia in the spotlights.
Sven De Cleyn: “It is of course a great honor to receive this award. But all credit really goes to all colleagues, start-ups and partners who have been supporting the imec.istart program over the past couple of years. This award is the result of great teamwork.”
By means of its imec.istart program, imec supports researchers, young entrepreneurs and start-ups with the successful launch and go-to-market of their ideas – through financial support, professional coaching and a broad range of facilities tailored to start-ups’ needs. Imec.istart support is typically granted for a period of 6 to 18 months, depending on the maturity of the technology, the team’s experience and specific market characteristics. Since the start of the program, imec.istart has already supported the (international) breakthrough of more than 130 start-ups.
